The website  provides an introduction to immigration and discusses the trauma many immigrants and refugees face in their country of origin, during the immigration journey, and upon arrival to the U.S. The website also introduces trauma theory, which aims to help traumatized individuals learn to live with the memory of what they have been through and to help normalize their experience. It then provides general guidelines for trauma-informed practice, including safety and psycho-education through a trauma-informed lens and the injury mental health model.

The website also provides additional information on how to apply a trauma-informed lens to your agency via the Sanctuary Model. Through its 7 commitments, the model invites agencies to create a place of refuge from fear, injury and danger by developing processes, structures, and behaviors on the part of staff, clients and the community to counteract traumatic experiences.
